Sector III of first phase of upgrading Cairo-Alexandria-Matrouh desert highway to a free way 25 km ,Dual carriageway (4 lanes each direction) & shoulders ,plus frontage road and shoulder form each side. Taking unit of 2 lanes road, the 25km will equal to 150 km of road work. (from km 26 to km 101,its total length is 25 km)-the upgrading comprise adding new service roads in both sides, change all at grade intersection to interchanges through bridges or tunnels , improve traffic safety standards , regulatory and warning signs , improve irrigation network and road lighting.
